How to check destination health and vaccination requirements from China
Verify destination, transit and carrier rules in the right order before asking a Chinese travel-health center for a vaccine, certificate, examination or form.
A destination health requirement is controlled primarily by the destination and, where relevant, each transit jurisdiction—not by a Chinese clinic, travel agency or general article. The same route may also involve carrier document checks and a Chinese travel-health center that can assess a service request or issue an authorized document, but none of those actors can replace the destination authority's current rule. Start with the full itinerary and exact traveller identity, classify each statement as a legal entry requirement, a carrier check, a visa medical requirement or nonbinding health advice, and only then contact the correct Chinese provider. This guide does not publish volatile country-by-country requirements, recommend a vaccine, assess a traveller, guarantee inventory, timing, insurance, visa approval, boarding or entry.

Provider procedures can change, so confirm time-sensitive details with the hospital, insurer or service. A licensed professional must make clinical decisions for an individual patient.

Build one traveller-and-itinerary fact sheet
Record the traveller's passport nationality, other travel documents, Chinese residence status if relevant, destination, purpose of travel, intended length of stay and departure date. Add every transit country or region, airport, duration and whether the traveller will pass immigration. Include recent travel history where the destination's rule asks about it.
Do not research only by destination name. A rule may differ by nationality, age category, point of origin, recent presence in another place, transit duration or visa type. Save the final ticket and note the time zone and arrival date used by the rule. Repeat the check when a connection or date changes.
Use a hierarchy of current official decision owners
Begin with the destination government's immigration, health or foreign-affairs website and its embassy or consulate responsible for applications in China. Then check the official authority for each transit jurisdiction. Use the operating carrier's current document notice for boarding practice, but do not let a carrier summary replace the government rule. The China Consular Service destination directory can help discover official links and notices, although much of its guidance is principally for Chinese citizens.
Capture the page title, publisher, URL, publication or update date, access date and exact relevant wording. If two official pages conflict, ask the destination mission or border authority which instruction governs the travel date and retain the response. Blogs, agencies, social posts and old application checklists can identify questions, but they are not the final authority.
The receiving government decides its entry and visa rules. A Chinese vaccination or examination provider does not guarantee acceptance.
Classify the requirement before booking anything
Label each item as one of four types: a mandatory entry or transit requirement; a visa or permit medical-document requirement; a carrier boarding document; or nonbinding public-health advice. Also record whether the statement requires vaccination, a laboratory or medical examination, an ICVP, another certificate, a completed destination form or only disclosure. A recommendation must not be rewritten as a legal condition, and a legal condition must not be softened into general advice.
If the official page says a certificate is required only after travel through a specified risk area or for a defined category, retain that condition instead of publishing a universal rule. Do not use this site to decide whether the traveller should receive a vaccine or can safely do so. That assessment belongs to qualified provider staff using the current product and service rules.
Verify the exact evidence and acceptable issuer
For every mandatory item, write the exact certificate or form name, acceptable issuer or panel physician, required identity fields, signature and stamp, permitted language, original or digital format, validity calculation and whether the document must be uploaded before travel. Ask whether a prior vaccination record can support issuance or transcription, but do not assume a Chinese domestic receipt is accepted directly by a foreign border.
An ICVP follows the WHO model and must be issued through an authorized route. A destination-specific visa medical form may require a named panel physician or laboratory and may not be handled by every International Travel Health Care Center. An International Travel Health Examination Certificate is not automatically the destination's form. Preserve the request itself so the provider can confirm scope.

Use the current yellow-fever ICVP rule correctly
The International Health Regulations provide the model and current validity framework for the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis. Use the dedicated yellow-fever certificate guide for that rule and its official WHO source instead of carrying fixed-duration language forward from legacy material.
Certificate validity does not answer whether this traveller needs the certificate for this itinerary or is clinically eligible for vaccination. The destination and transit authorities determine the requirement; an authorized provider determines whether and how it can provide the requested service. Do not promise a same-day appointment, available dose, exemption, certificate or entry result.
Contact the right Chinese center with a task-specific request
Use the national International Travel Health Care Center directory to locate the responsible regional center, then open the center-controlled page or contact channel. State the destination, travel date and exact task: vaccination assessment, ICVP issue, prior-record transcription, certificate correction, destination form, or travel health examination. Confirm which branch handles that task before paying or travelling there.
Ask for the current appointment method, accepted passport workflow, photographs, original records, destination or visa evidence, form version, language support, charge basis, collection method and expected—not guaranteed—processing range. Local examples from Beijing, Shanghai and Qinghai show why services differ by center and branch. They do not create a national checklist or prove inventory.
Recheck before departure and preserve the evidence chain
Set a final verification date close enough to departure to catch official changes while leaving time to resolve document errors. Recheck the destination, every transit point, operating carrier and relevant Chinese center. If the itinerary changes, reopen the analysis. Save dated PDFs or screenshots, enquiry numbers and provider appointment confirmations rather than relying on a browser history.
Carry documents in the format required by the decision owner and keep secure copies separately. Check names, passport numbers, dates, signatures and stamps before leaving the issuing counter. A correct-looking document still does not guarantee visa, boarding, transit or entry; the responsible authority makes the decision under the rule in force at that time.

Does a valid yellow-fever certificate mean I never need to check again?
